SUMMARY:Family Hike
DESCRIPTION:Last month’s family hike was rained out\, but on Saturday\, November 18th we will give it another try! We will meet at 10:00 am at E. Carroll Joyner Park in Wake Forest (701 Harris Rd.) for a 1 mile interactive hike in the autumn air. The path we will follow is flat\, paved\, and is suitable for strollers and wagons. This hike is especially geared toward families with smaller children\, but all family members are welcome\, including furry ones (it is park policy that all dogs must be on a leash). Please bring a drink and a snack since these are not available at the park. We will start our adventure at the information kiosk located by the main parking lot. Looking forward to seeing you there!

DESCRIPTION:Help us ring in the holiday season and launch our annual Holiday Donation Drive during the Wake Forest Cares Holiday Kick-Off on Saturday\, Nov. 18\, from 1-5 p.m. in downtown Wake Forest!  \nFree and open to the public\, our Holiday Kick-Off will offer a slew of activities the entire family can enjoy\, including The Carolina Hurricanes Storm Tour and Slapshot Booth\, a Winter Wonderland with everyone’s favorite Ice Queen and Snowman\, award-winning ice carvers (ice competitions will take place at 1:15 pm\, 2:00 pm\, 2:45 pm\, 3:30 pm\, and 4:15 pm in Jones Plaza) \, community performances\, children’s craft activities\, and more!   \nYou will also have the chance to learn more about several Wake Forest Cares initiatives and how they are making a positive difference in our community.  \nPictures with Santa will also be available 1:30-5 pm with advance reservations required. Please visit the Pictures with Santa page to make your reservation. \nWhile enjoying the kick-off\, you are invited to Experience Downtown Wake Forest and all that it has to offer. We hope you will shop small and support local this holiday season. \n  \nFood\nFood and refreshments will be available for purchase at several downtown restaurants. \nIn addition\, the following food trucks will be onsite: The Naked Empanada\, Warehouse BBQ\, Presti Pizza\, Mama Churros\, and Lumpy’s Ice Cream.
