DESCRIPTION:The Winston Ridge Social Committee will be introducing a new activity to familiarize residents with the parks\, nature preserves and open spaces that are near our community. Our first activity\, a family hike\, will take place on Saturday\, October 14 at 10:00 am. We will be venturing to E. Carroll Joyner Park in Wake Forest (701 Harris Rd.) for a 1 mile interactive hike to have some fun out in the autumn air. The path we will follow is easy\, flat\, paved\, and is suitable for strollers and wagons. This hike is especially geared toward families with smaller children\, but all family members are welcome\, including furry ones (it is park policy that all dogs must be on a leash). Please bring a drink and a snack since these are not available at the park. We will start our adventure at the information kiosk located by the main parking lot. DESCRIPTION:The Veteran’s Group of Winston Ridge invites veterans and their families\, first responders and their families\, as well as anyone interested in attending the first 9/11 Commemoration Event.  The event will begin at 0900 (9:00 AM) on Monday\, September 11\, at the swimming pool flag pole for a brief introduction\, flag-lowering to half-mast\, as well as remarks from veterans.  After the flag lowering ceremony\, everyone is invited to partake of light refreshments (donuts\, bagels\, fruit and vegetable trays) in the pool house.  The event will end at 1000 (10:00 AM).  The event is designed as both a commemoration of 9/11 along with a thank-you to the first responders and veterans for their continued service.

DESCRIPTION:LIVING ON THE RIDGE IS CELEBRATING THE 4TH OF JULY WITH A PARADE AT STARTING AT 10 AM AT THE OLD POOL!\nWe can’t wait to see all your creativity in decorating your bikes\, golf carts\, wagons\, strollers\, motorcycles\, cars\, and yourselves! \nDetails: \nOn Tuesday\, July 4th gather at the Old Pool at 9:30 for the parade line up. The parade will kick off at 10:00 am! We welcome all Veterans to lead the parade\, followed by cars\, motorcycles\, golf carts\, bikes and ending with walkers in order to keep everyone safe! \nGeorge Roraback has planned a few surprises while you are waiting for the parade to start at 10:00 am!!  Thanks George!! \nA snapshot of the parade route is posted below (and attached).  From the old pool we’ll head down Meadowrue \n\nturn left on Sweet Birch\nturn right on Scarlet Bell\nturn left on Moonflower\nturn right on Sweet Bay\nturn left on Sugar Maple\nturn left on Pickerel Crest\nending at the new pool on Plantation\n\nAfter the parade\, we’ll have breakfast goodies so plan to hang out and socialize with your neighbors at our beautiful new pool! We can’t wait to see you all along the parade route cheering us on!
