Nominations are now open to fill three vacancies for the 2026-2029 term on the Winston Ridge Homeowners Association Board of Directors. We are providing basic information with this email but feel free to reach out to any of us with any questions you may have about running for election or duties and responsibilities if elected to the board. Our email addresses are included below for your convenience.
You may nominate yourself and, if you know someone in the community you think would be an excellent director, you can also submit his or her name to any member of the nominating committee by email to nominations@winstonridge.org.
All candidates must submit a candidate bio (not to exceed 500 words) by August 25th to nominations@winstonridge.org. The provided bios will be made available to to assist the owners in deciding how to cast their ballots. A candidate forum will be held at the Plantation Pool Activity Center on September 12th at 7:00pm Voting will be completed and the elected candidates announced at the Annual Meeting.
Minimum requirements include:
- A commitment to serve.
- Although no two weeks are the same, board service generally requires a time commitment of 5-10 hours per week. There can be weeks that are slower than this and there can be weeks that require a greater amount of time.
- A commitment to learn. To serve effectively, you must:
- Understand your fiduciary responsibilities as a director.
- Understand conflicts of interest.
- Be familiar with the associations governing documents.
- Understand the requirements of confidentiality including establishing or maintaining an email address to which only you have access.
- Attend a board orientation and other online training provided by Elite.
- A commitment to effective communication.
- This includes speaking, listening, and writing.
- A commitment to problem solving.
- Basic technology skills including, your ability to independently:
- Access documents online through Elite’s website or email attachments.
- Participate in Zoom meetings while maintaining the confidentiality of the information discussed through these meetings.
- Utilize the email account you will use for board communications.
There are many individuals in Winston Ridge with the skills and experience to make a difference for your neighbors. We encourage you to step forward and run (or nominate someone you think would do a great job) – so Winston Ridge can flourish.
