Meet The Candidates Night Reminder

Good Afternoon Winston Ridge Homeowner,

This email is a reminder for the upcoming “Meet The Candidates Night” that will be held tomorrow night, Thursday, September 5, 2024. The six candidates will meet with you one on one from 7:00pm – 9:00pm at the Plantation pool clubhouse. They will all be seated at separate tables throughout the clubhouse ready to meet you, talk to you and and answer any questions you may have for them. Please know this is a “drop-in” meeting so that you can plan what time works best for you within the 2 hour time period, but the candidates themselves will be there for the entirety of meeting. Please make note of this and plan a time that works best for you to come meet the candidates tomorrow night. Below you will find a short essay each candidate submitted for your review as an insight as to their intentions to become a member of the Winston Ridge Board of Directors.

Wallace O’Neal

My wife and I have lived in WR for 8 years and have witnessed alot of changes. As a Board member for 2 years, I have been a part of some of those changes, but there are more that need to be fulfilled, which is why I am seeking re-election to the WR Board of Directors. With my experienced leadership, dedication, and passion for the community, I believe I would continue to be a great asset. My goals/objectives are to fulfill my responsibility and opportunity to ensure the community is attuned to high ethical standards and is also aligned with genuine values and attainable goals.

Stephen Jones

As a Board Member and Treasurer for the past two years, I have a proven record of supporting and moving the community ahead fiscally and socially. My contributions include:

– Conducted a thorough review of our first reserve study, identifying errors

– Overhauled the 2024 budgeting process for greater accuracy based upon contractual obligations, income, reserve needs, and spending with an eye toward maintaining a balanced budget

– Created and maintain WinstonRidge.org

– Created the comprehensive 2024 community survey and analyzed results

My family joined the community in 2013. We look forward to WR continuing to thrive and come together.

Tracy Lowe

Our community is growing. But as it grows, there are changes needed to improve life here in Winston Ridge:

  • Improvements in responsiveness to homeowners concerns and comments.
  • Improvements in communication between the Board and homeowners – ensuring that homeowners are apprised of the status of their requests.
  • HOA processes need to be made more transparent – so that homeowners know how Board decisions are made, and how to contact Board members about issues and ideas.
  • Homeowners should have some input into which projects are funded, and how HOA dues are spent.
  • Advertisement of opportunities for homeowners to get involved and participate as members of the community.

Nancy Loncto

I believe my professional and volunteer experience will constructively serve the WR HOA Board and my neighbors, especially regarding communication. I would augment Board strengths using my proven planning, budgeting, and writing skills, as well as volunteer development. I enjoy collaborating with individuals and constituencies. I have time available to serve and an inclination to make a substantial commitment of that resource to the Board. By serving, I plan to replicate my positive volunteer experiences, each of which led to making a difference. My qualifications meet those in the job description provided and I would conscientiously strive to meet responsibilities.

George Roraback

I will bring a positive outlook and the willingness to put the extra time and effort into our community. I have done that already through the social committee which included an Easter egg hunt, yearly community cookouts, annual July 4th parades, Christmas parade, community wine tasting, spring-summer food truck events and CPR/AED class. Currently while serving on the landscaping committee I show investment in the aesthetics and grounds of our community. I will continue to bring that same care and attention into being a board member. If elected I will work with excellence, transparency and accountability.

I will continue to make Winston Ridge a community to be proud to live in.

John Dunning

I am a retired CEO of a jet charter company and a commuter airline. I was a board member of five different community associations for over 20 years serving as President for three of them and Vice President for two of them. I hold an inactive Certified Manager of Community Associations certificate and an Association Services Management certificate. I completed all the educational requirements for a Professional Community Association Manager certificate.

I moved to Winston Ridge in 2010 when there were only 20 or so homes. I believe that HOA’s should be governed by knowledgeable caring homeowners.

I believe that as a board member one must listen to the needs of the owners and govern accordingly.

As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me anytime. I hope you have a wonderful day!

On Behalf of the Winston Ridge Board of Directors,
