October is here, the weather is cooling off and the Social Committee is on the move! If you were unable to attend the last volunteer meeting, please find below an update as to what is coming up as we fall into “Fall”. Before we get started we would like to encourage you to dip your big toe in and join the committee; before you know it 2024 events will be on the horizon!  This is a fabulous way to meet some of your neighbors, bring new ideas, and spread your wings. Family Hike – Joyner Park

The Winston Ridge Social Committee will be introducing a new activity to familiarize residents with the parks, nature preserves and open spaces that are near our community. Our first activity, a family hike, will take place on Saturday, October 14 at 10:00 am. We will be venturing to E. Carroll Joyner Park in Wake Forest (701 Harris Rd.) for a 1 mile interactive hike to have some fun out in the autumn air. The path we will follow is easy, flat, paved, and is suitable for strollers and wagons. This hike is especially geared toward families with smaller children, but all family members are welcome, including furry ones (it is park policy that all dogs must be on a leash).
