Plantation Poolhouse deck space clean up day

The pool committee would like to invite volunteers to the Plantation Poolhouse deck next Saturday, April 27, at 10:00 for a spring cleaning of the pollen covered space and furniture. We also need to move the pool deck furniture (a few of the  round tables and arm chairs, all chaise lounge chairs and the little tables to the opposite side of the fence.

Wake Forrest: Paper Shredding Event & Electronics Recycling

Free and open to the public, these occasions will offer area residents and businesses the opportunity to protect themselves from identity theft and dispose of confidential documents in an environmentally responsible manner. Residents will drive up to the shredding point, then unload their boxes and bags of paper for shredding. Please note: The paper will be shredded onsite.   Electronics Recycling offered as part of April 20 event As part of the April 20 event, residents will have the opportunity to properly dispose of items that may otherwise end up in landfills. Accepted items include, but are not limited to, laptops, servers, cell phones, mainframes, circuit boards, keyboards, VCRs, electric typewriters, and radios. We are fortunate to have Mary Wright Christiana there at 1:00 to teach Mahjong for beginners. If you don't want to play Mahjong you are more than welcome just to hang out and meet new neighbors. This will also be a good time to gather and discuss what else we would like to do on Senior Thursdays, all ideas are are welcome.

Friday Night on White

Friday Night on White (FNOW) returns to downtown Wake Forest on Friday, April 12, with The Magic Pipers. The free outdoor concert will take place from 6-9 p.m. along South White Street in historic downtown Wake Forest. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase at several downtown restaurants. A variety of food and dessert trucks will also be on site in the Depot Parking Lot, 110 S. White St., and along East Owen Avenue. Food and dessert trucks scheduled to participate on April 12 include Virgil’s Jamaica, Cousins Maine Lobster, VFW Chuck Wagon, Charlie’s Kabob Grill on Wheels, Crumbstruction, Not Just a Fry Guy, the Naked Empanada, Lumpy’s Ice Cream, La Katrina Tacos, Mama Churro, and Kono Pizza. Menus for these food trucks are provided on the Town website.
